In 1999, Mr. Warner began working with Dayton Public Schools to develop a Long-Range Strategic Plan. The plan included demographic studies, facility assessments, facility capacity studies, projected enrollment, community engagement recommendations, and a timeline for the implementation of a multi-segmented plan. Stakeholders in the district approved a $600 million facility plan the would provide 6 new high schools and 18 new K-8 elementary schools.
As a follow-up to the master planning effort facilitated by Mr. Warner, and in conjunction with the Ohio School Facilities Commission, Dayton Public Schools requested completion of district-wide and site-specific Educational Specifications, a Technology Plan, a Safety and Security Plan, and a School Boundary Plan in 2003. The District is currently using these plans to complete Segments One and Two of the 10-year master plan. Dayton Public Schools is currently operating 56 buildings that serve approximately 16,000 students.
Mr. Warner has acted as the district’s educational planner since 2000 and is currently assisting the district as Segment Three projects are completed.
